Deputy FM: Syria Peace Talks prioritized in Iran’s foreign policy

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Jaberi Ansari underlined the importance of Astana talks and efforts to establish peace and stability in Syria as one of the Islamic Republic’s prioritized foreign policies.

“At present, the Astana talks and (in fact) Syria issue is one of the Foreign Ministry’s priorities, and frequent exchange of views with the Arab Asian countries have expanded to this end,” Jaberi Ansari said on Sunday.

He, meantime, stressed that Iran’s foreign policy has always focused on the development of ties with other world countries, noting that, “We are trying to consider economic capacities in ties with all countries and activate them and expand political activities and multilateral relations with them alongside.”

In relevant remarks in January, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined that the peace talks to resolve the crisis in the war-hit Syria should be pursued seriously.
